Tree planting at Mundalam Sinhala Government School


The Sinhalese Government School at Mundalama which has G.C.E (AL) students who are following agriculture as a subject and interested in cultivation. They do not have anyone to assist or support them. At this stage, Lion Lady Nirmala, a Teacher at this school (who is the wife of Lion Ajith) took the initiatives to plan this project.

The Lions Club of Colombo Maitland took over this project and it was a success. We have planned to evaluate the project every six months to ascertain the results.

This would be monitored as a continuing project from which all the students of this School will be benefited in two ways. The income from this cultivation will be used to buy school books, etc., while at the same time, the children will learn about cultivation and environment.
