Health Camp and Diabetic Screening at Slave Island, Colombo 02
The service project organized by our club was held on 21st and 22nd of August 2009 at Slave Island Police Station. The project was organized by Lion Quintus Jayathilaka (Project Chairperson), it was very successfully. It was conducted with assistance of Police -Slave Island to support community in the area where we provided wheel chairs, spectacles, books for children.
Also, we conducted health camp of Diabetic screening and Ayuvedic medical. There were 150 people participated this event. Our Lion member Daniel and team attended their foreign job campaign. The staff of Health Education Bureau Dr. Upala and her team conducted health awareness programme for the community.
The Diabetic screening and advice was conducted by Lion lady Dr. Dilanthie Nijanthan and her colleague of Dr. Shamala Ravindran
The organizing chairperson and his committee have shown great teamwork. The presentation sessions were successfully carried out. Job well done. Lastly, we must thank our OIC of Slave Island Police Station and his team for the job well done.
